Joomla PDF Indexer v2.4 scans your PDF files and makes the content available for your website search. The indexing did not work for content with german Umlaute. Use this patch and it will work fine.

Installation:

1. Download ftp://ftp.foolabs.com/pub/xpdf/xpdf-3.02pl2-linux.tar.gz, unpack the files and upload them to /administrator/components/com_file_index/includes
2. Extract the attached "Umlaute Patch" and overwrite existing files on your ftp
3. (Re-)Index your PDFs in your Joomla Backend
